SWEEETHEAT Fish Tacos

Our tacos are made with the three main components that I believe are essential to the best fish tacos.  First,a good-quality fish, coated in a versatile flour mixture that consists of our All Purpose Rub, and fried to crispy perfection.  Second, our Chipotle Remoulade sauce to drizzle on top. Third, cabbage, avocado and cilantro piled high on top   Altogether, these tacos add up to taste ultra-fresh and flavorful, yet they still feel nice and light and healthy, which I love.

SWEEETHEAT Fish Tacos

    Batter
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 Cup Corn Starch
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons SWEEETHEAT All Purpose Rub
  • 3/4 Cup Cold Water
    Taco
  • 1 Pound Cod or Mahi Mahi
  • 8 Tortillas, warmed
  • 2 Cups Shredded Purple Cabbage
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • 3 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro Leaves
  • 1/2 Cup SWEEETHEAT Chipotle Remoulade
  • 3 Quarts Vegetable Oil for Frying
Instructions
    Crispy Fish
  1. Combine flour, corn starch, baking powder and All Purpose Rub in a bowl. Remove 3/4 cup of flour mixture and place in a shallow pan (this is the dry dredge).
  2. Add 3/4 cup cold water to the remaining flour mixture and whisk until smooth.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil over medium heat to 350 degrees in a Dutch oven or deep pan.
  4. Pat dry the fish with paper towels.
  5. Cut fish into pieces.
  6. Dip the fish into the dry mixture, shake off excess flour and then dip into batter ensuring it's coated on both sides. Allow the excess batter to drip off the fish. Dip the fish back into the dry mixture to coat.
  7. Place fish into the hot oil. Cook until the fish is a deep golden brown (5 mins).
  8. Remove the fish from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate.
    To Assemble
  1. Lay fried fish over warm tortillas.
  2. Top with cabbage, avocado, chipotle remoulade, and cilantro.
