SWEEETHEAT Sweeet Potatoes

This sweet potato recipe coats sweet potatoes with a sugary mixture of our Southern BBQ Blend,  butter and brown sugar.  The Southern BBQ Blend rub is the star of this side dish. The cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cayenne pepper complement the brown sugar to give this dish simple yet delicious. Serve this as a side dish to chicken, pork, turkey or beef.  These sweeet potatoes can be topped with any topping you’d want (ie marshmallows, nuts, etc).  Get yourself a fork and enjoy!!

  • 4 Pounds Sweet Potatoes
  • 3/4 Cup Dark Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 Teaspoon Southern BBQ Blend
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • Olive Oil
  1. Peel, half and cut the sweet potatoes into 1 inch pieces.
  2. Preheate the oven to 400 degrees F. Coat a 9"x13" pan or a 3 quart baking dish with olive oil.
  3. Place the sweet potatoes in an even layer in the dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, butter, Southern BBQ Blend and salt.
  5. Pour the Southern BBQ Blend brown sugar mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  6. Toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.
  7. Bake the sweet potatoes for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 15-20 minutes, until tender and caramelized.
